I noticed at the last event that late in the evening, after all the clicker fighting was over, people kind of drifted out of character. There was a period of a couple hours when everyone was still awake, but rp-fatigue had set in, and we were just chit-chatting ooc (mostly about DR, so I was left out; sniff, sniff).
If that happens again, would anyone be interested in playing some board or card games, in-character, or, at least, quasi-in-character?
The following are games I have that are small and portable, and wouldn't seem inappropriate to the PF setting:
Tichu -- super-addictive trick-taking card game that causes hard-core board-gamers to ignore their stacks of $60 games. I really like the idea that Tichu is the most popular card game in the UEA.
7 Wonders -- strategy card game with an ancient world theme
Alexandros -- abstract strategy game loosely themed around our spaceship's namesake
RA -- bidding/auction game
Pandemic -- historical co-op game about fighting diseases in the early 21st century
If any of those sound good to you, give me a shout. I'll bring 2 or 3.
Also, I just had a brilliant idea - write PF references on all of my blank Cards Against Humanity cards, and play Cards Against Continuity. "The UEA," "My mimetic fitness," etc. I won't have time to do it before Saturday, but maybe for next event.
Playing any sort of game with physical pieces is probably anachronistic, but we could pretend we're playing on our tablets. Or maybe Misha whittled the pieces out of wood, who knows?
