Hello Planetfall folks!
I'm Sadie Hawkins and I want to be one of your
hapless pawnsPlayer Council members!
First, a little bit about myself. I play Dr. Drea Anderson in PF, your friendly neighborhood Utopian geologist/ecologist/biologist/meteorologist/whatever-ologist. I've been playing for several games and I'm very much looking forward to the start of the beta series. I'm somewhat new to larping, but I'm already addicted. I also play Dystopia Rising, a variety of freeform games, participate in the Austin larp meetup, and am a volunteer for the upcoming Living Games conference in Austin. I'm an Austin native and I love our weird little community. We should hang out sometime.
So let's cut to the chase. Here's what I specifically would like to focus on if you decide to throw your vote at me:
- Keeping PF a safe environment for all players, free from bullying, harassment, or other dangers. I have absolutely no tolerance for bullies, harmful language, sexual harassment, or bigotry of any kind. Let's keep that out of our community.
- Nurturing a game that is both fun and easily accessible to new players and larp novices, as well as challenging and intriguing for veteran players. I want to ensure that new players are not intimidated by the occasionally unorthodox style of our game, while making sure that long-term players are able to grow in-game and stay interested.
- Making sure that the technology and gameplay of PF keeps up with the interests of the players, not just the beautiful hopes and dreams of the staff. I love the staff and we should be able to work together to make sure that everyone gets what they want out of PF.
- Building and maintaining a strong community that supports each other both in and out of game. I think this is pretty self-explanatory.
This is getting pretty long-winded, so I'll keep the rest short. I'm passionate about this game and I'm a responsible, open, and friendly person. I don't have any other responsibilities in this game or another game, so I can focus on the Council and PF player needs. I'm excited to help PF grow into a bigger, better game while keeping the close-knit community of friends that we've created.
All of this being said, all of the other candidates for Council are amazing people who would do a great job. I would love your vote, but my feelings won't be hurt if I don't get it! :)

Hello colonists and fellow players,
I'm David and play Teh'Roh in game. One of the miners of Medina and the source of that metal pinging sound from the rocks in the field all day long.
As a LARPer I draw a hard line between in character (IC) and out of character (OCC). Teh'Roh will probably come off as rude, standoffish, brash, or unstable to many people. That is how I want him to be in game and is in no way a full reflection of me as an individual.
If you have an issue in game. Rest assured you can come to me at anytime and talk with me about it. I have no issues going from IC to OCC in a heartbeat if it means us working through your issues so you can enjoy the rest of the game. This is what I'm here for.
I only recently moved to Austin and have been exploring the LARP scene as much as I can. I originally came from a game called Amtgard which is a combat LARP designed as a fast paced reflex sport. When I discovered Dystopia Rising, I quickly adopted it as my go to LARP and new community. I have been with DR for two years now, met great people, and learned about PF from there and now do both DR and PF.
I am excited to see and experience what is in store for all of us going into the Beta games! I love this new way of LARPing that our benevolent GMs have brought us and technology involved.
My goals and intentions:
To help support all players and make sure all voices are heard. New players and veterans alike, no single voice is greater than another's.
To help the staff from the players point of view. I will be one of three voices for the players when it comes to post game development meetings. I will make sure your complaints and suggestions are heard and will help to be a mediator of players to staff.
To help encourage the safe and friendly atmosphere and community that is welcoming, helpful, and accepting to everyone. We are in this together, and together we will make this the community we love.

I come from the Park of Cedars. And through Meadows and past The Woodlands, my path has led…and through the mud! I am he who walks as a ghost. I am virus hunter. Daughter-daddy. Disaster-cleaver. Plan-maker.
But you can call me Clint…or Volker Geist if we’re on Medina. I’m a 38-year old husband, father of one, disaster preparedness consultant, and epidemiologist.
Planetfall is the only persistent LARP I play, and I want to help make it as fun and drama-free as possible! Regarding this goal, I see the Player’s Council as a facilitator for ensuring the following key tenets:
To have fun, we need a playing environment that is both physically and emotionally safe. It entails making sure everyone is aware of and follows safety guidelines. It also entails identifying and addressing potential hazards. And a root cause analysis might be in order if someone gets hurt. These are shared responsibilities between the Game Staff and players alike.
To have fun, we need a supportive, diverse player community that encourages creative interactive play. Let’s strive for in game inclusivity and out of game fellowship. One player should never have to forfeit their fun due to the actions or goals of another.
And to have fun, we need to work with, not against, the Game Staff. The players and Game Staff need to understand and communicate effectively with each other. If problems arise, let’s ensure all sides are heard and represented. Likewise, if people have great ideas and feedback, let’s compile and share that shit!
For a career, I facilitate meetings, plan, train, liaison between clients and stakeholders, manage projects, evaluate agencies' response capabilities, and design and conduct disaster exercises. I’ve also served in leadership positions for past organizations (i.e. President of the UT Houston Health Science Center School of Public Health Student Governance Organization and member of the Board of Directors of Stagewright, Inc.—a non-profit that taught theater to potentially at-risk youths). These skills and experiences seem to be complementary to possible roles of the Player’s Council. So let me be your personal Jedi to help ensure emotion, yet peace; ignorance, yet knowledge; passion, yet serenity; and chaos, yet harmony. Vote Pedro!...err…CLINT!
Intergalactic Man of Mystery
Hello Folks, I play your friendly neighborhood Communications Officer / Logistics / Miner / General dude who does stuff, Kal Azami, Lah.
In the real world, I am known as John or "Decker" (a nickname from a while back that lingers still in many gaming circles), While a native Texan (born in Tyler), I have taken a long route here, bouncing up to Chicago-Land, then over to Denver, and finally to Austin a couple years ago.
I play in several LARPs, of different styles, as I am a fan of variety and feel that largely despite the same "media" format, they allow for practically a different game entirely. I.E. I feel each game is different and enjoy them based on their own merits.
What I love of Planetfall is the culture we have developed. While we have a small measure of silliness to occasionally break up the tension, largely it's serious and thoughtful roleplay. Everyone puts in the effort to play out their role and everyone is OG respected and respectful, regardless of what IG tensions there might be. It's part thought experiment, part social experiment, and part game.
Largely, I feel the Player Council is tasked to help preserve that culture, so we have a fertile garden in which the ideas of the Staff and the Players can grow. We have a lot of people from different walks of life and I feel that greatly contributes to our game.
I am happy to say that I feel that there are no bad choices on this ballot, it's just a question of preference of style.
Me? I'm generally an easy going guy, but I'm not afraid to rock the boat a bit if it needs it either. While I often use humor to help create a relaxed atmosphere, any concerns brought to me would be treated with respect and when it comes down it to, I'm willing to address pink elephants when they arise.
