@GM-Matt-Webb In the meantime, do we just assume that such searches are not possible?
How does this apply to 'search and seizure' type operations?
In the Animal Husbandry vein, @Drea-Anderson and @shilo-2feather are looking at local topography to find a place (preferably a 3-sided ravine) where we can close off one end and make an enclosure for a small herd of Tatonka. This would be a bit of a ways out from New Unity because we are essentially building an all-you-can-eat Clicker buffet with penned animals.
The goal would be to have this be closer to the river to provide a steady water source the animals can drink. Once we find a suitable place we will be discussing with the Construction admins the best way to build it up for this purpose.
Why not both? For more than 2000 years we've milked goats, sheep, cattle, and various other mammals on Earth and the diversity was a good thing.
Because the Grazers are more rare, and seem much more intelligent. Right now we only see Grazers who wander past, and there have only been two that I know of. None of which appeared to be gestating/lactating but if they were I would worry that in already scarce quantities, Grazers would either be turned away from wandering into our territory if we subject them to milking, or their low density could be adversely effected if the milking withholds nourishment to young we might not have seen.
That's assuming they remain free-range. At the moment, the wide-ranging habits of the Grazer make them unlikely to react well to confinement, whereas the Tatonka are more likely to be amenable so long as their herd structure is maintained.
@Beth-7 While I agree in theory, I'm not sure it would be possible, or at least easy, to make the app recognize the difference between synthetics and biological humans. As it is, everything does the same thing for everyone. Having to program the app to do something different for each player adds several layers of complication that the staff may not want to spend the time programming in.
Well, actually, the app DOES do different stuff for different people based on their other skills. If you add in a skill (and maybe it can be invisible to the player) that gives them Synth 'abilities' then you could modify specific actions to react different. Someone eating cooked meat with the 'Vegetarian' ability would take a morale hit bigger than the morale boost, etc.
That being said, are all Synths actually vegetarian? Or has that just been how some players have chosen to interpret it?
For the record, I'm hoping we can milk the grazers rather than the Tatonkas.
Really? The Tatonka seem more cow-like and also we have them in greater quantities.
Granted, claiming inventory you don't have is bad. But do we have to build the same build or can we switch up skills?
Heya! Which staff would need to be added? I know I have you and Riley in our Neoprim one but should I add Todd/Tyler as well?
My stats did not significantly decrease over the event for me, and I was checking because Aza was not eating, intentionally. :p I made about 9 painkiller shots, harvested a bunch of plants, and did several first aid saves and it did not make much of a dent, so I am in favor of a steady decrease. :)
